Job summary

Blue Origin LLC in Washington State seeks system and/or component level thermal analysts to advance spacecraft thermal control. You will contribute to system-level transient thermal analysis of spacecraft across ground, launch, Earth orbit, cis-lunar and lunar orbits using Thermal Desktop, with collaboration across card level, system level, and design teams to ensure proper temperature management.

The role emphasizes technical leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to document results

Qualifications

• Minimum of a B.S. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
• 8 years of relevant Thermal Engineering/Analysis experience with Thermal Desktop; solid understanding of thermal fundamentals.
• Familiarity with Thermal Desktop and Sinda/Fluint, including model validation and test correlation.

Responsibilities

• Developing system-level thermal analysis models of spacecraft at varying levels of maturity and detail with minimal supervision
• Anchoring thermal predictions to test data
• Communicating and collaborating clearly and effectively with multiple teams both as a customer and provider of fluid and thermal data
• Documenting your work for future reference and later refinement
• Advocating for methods that will improve component and analysis performance and reliability
