Job summary

Boom Supersonic in Centennial, CO is seeking early-career mechanical engineers to own critical hardware challenges from day one. You will work on fuel, lube, cooling subsystems and test hardware, with real responsibility and ownership over designs that become actual engines.

You’ll collaborate across propulsion, electrical, and manufacturing teams, gain hands-on CAD/FEA experience, complete internships or co-ops, and contribute to a world-class aerospace project in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Aerospace Engineering
  • At least one internship or co-op where you designed, analyzed, or built real-world mechanical systems
  • Hands-on CAD and analysis experience with standard 3D CAD modeling and FEA tools (NX, SolidWorks, CATIA)
  • Strong fundamentals in statics, dynamics, mechanics of materials, machine design, and fluid mechanics/thermodynamics

Responsibilities

  • Own parts of mechanical subsystems — fuel, lube, cooling, and other balance-of-plant systems — from concept through analysis, drawing release, and integration
  • Design components and assemblies balancing performance, reliability, manufacturability, and testability
  • Plan and support assembly processes with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs can be built and serviced
  • Design and run component and system-level tests — instrument hardware, collect data, interpret results
