Job summary

Boom Supersonic is seeking early-career engineers to own propulsion challenges, from 1D cycle performance to 3D CFD modeling and fuel nozzle design. You’ll work on the test stand and in the shop with mechanical, materials, and controls teams to turn propulsion concepts into hardware ready for testing.

Internships or co-ops in propulsion, thermofluids, or related fields, plus hands-on modeling with CFD tools and cycle analysis, will help you contribute from day one and grow with the team.

Qualifications

• Degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering with propulsion/thermofluids experience.
• Internship, co-op, or equivalent in propulsion, fluids, or thermal systems.
• Hands-on modeling and analytical experience with CFD tools and cycle analysis.
• Solid grasp of propulsion fundamentals: thermodynamics, compressible flow, heat transfer, combustion.
• Track record of finishing hard tasks in school or industry.

Responsibilities

• Own propulsion subsystem work from 1D cycle performance to 3D CFD modeling and design.
• Collaborate on test stands and in the shop with multidisciplinary teams to realize hardware.
• Analyze cycles and internal flows to set safe operating limits for upcoming flights.
• Support engine testing by evaluating data, troubleshooting, and guiding design revisions.
• Coordinate with design and manufacturing to optimize gas-path components for performance and producibility.
