Job summary

WSP is seeking an Early Career Electrical Engineer for our Phoenix, AZ office, with consideration for San Diego, CA. You will perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients across generation, substations, and transmission projects.

The role requires a recent engineering graduate or student, strong analytical and communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in teams. Some travel to project sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Must be a recent Engineering graduate or enrolled in engineering studies.
• Analytical mindset with good judgement for evaluating situations.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for engineering and non-engineering audiences.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team to meet objectives.
• Basic proficiency with technical writing, office software, math concepts, and spreadsheets.
• Proven commitment to safety and adherence to policies.
• Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Perform electrical studies and develop/troubleshoot SCADA systems for utility and industrial clients.
• Contribute to protection, planning, design, and data acquisition tasks using listed software.
• Travel to project sites to test, commission, and validate systems.
• Prepare technical reports with findings, calculations, and documentation.
• Assist with risk assessment and collaboration across cross-functional teams.
