Job summary

HRSD seeks an Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Specialist Supervisor to maintain, troubleshoot and install electrical and instrumentation systems across varied sites. Lead as needed, coordinating with work centers and reporting to the E&I Superintendent.

Position supports diverse environments with NEC/NFPA 70E standards, requires valid driver’s license and credentials (TWIC/DBIDS). Training pathways include an E&I apprenticeship and related degrees or licenses.

Qualifications

• Education and experience requirements for E&I roles are defined (apprentice to master electrician).
• HS Diploma or GED required for Apprentice track; Associates degree or licenses for higher levels.
• Licenses/credentials: valid state driver license; access credentials (TWIC, DBIDS).
• Apprenticeship pathways include on-the-job training and classwork.
• Grade levels outline HRSD apprenticeship progression and required credentials.

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of motors, lighting and control circuits.
• Calibrates temperature, pressure, level, flow, and analytical measuring devices (pH, Cl2, SO2, LEL, H2S, NH3).
• Maintains power generation systems, generators, and transfer switches.
• Works with switchgear (2.4 kV to 69 kV), relays and related equipment.
• Reviews engineering plans and coordinates with engineers, architects, and contractors.
• Maintains documentation and schematics for electrical, instrumentation and control systems.
