Job summary

LSB Industries is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician to support plant operations, including installation, repair, calibration, and preventive maintenance of instrumentation and electrical control systems. You will troubleshoot drives, valves, transmitters, and meter devices, ensuring safe, compliant operation and optimizing process reliability.

The role requires strong troubleshooting skills, knowledge of control loops and high-voltage systems, and a commitment to safety.

Qualifications

• Background experience in pneumatic, electro-pneumatic, electronic control loops, motor control circuits, low power distribution and working knowledge of high-voltage sub-stations.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in installation, troubleshooting, repair of instrumentation and electrical control loops, rebuilding and repair of control valves, electrical motor contactors, replacement of bearings in motors, assisting mechanical group in removal and installation of motors pumps and other electro-mechanical devices.
• Experience and knowledge of HVAC is a plus.
• NFPA 70 arc flash electrical safety.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and troubleshoot plant operations for efficient and reliable operations.
• Repair and install motors, control valves, transmitters, gauges, wiring, switches, and motor control equipment.
• Maintain instrument calibration documentation and PM records.
• Calibrate and test instrumentation, electrical power distribution, and VFDs.
• Perform preventive/predictive maintenance using data collectors and diagnostic tools.
• Investigate equipment failures and determine root cause.
• Support call-out/on-call requirements and safety/ EH&S needs.
• Develop cost estimates and select/install new process equipment for plant changes.
• Understand and optimize plant control logic and DCS implementation.
• Conduct routine process surveys and participate in plant outages inspections.
• Complete root cause analyses on downtime and support MOC/PSM activities.
• Build working knowledge of LSB Pryor units and inter-unit interactions.
• Develop, track, and manage project schedules with input from operations and EH&S.
