Job summary

Aston Carter is seeking a Project Setup Analyst to lead Dynamics-based project initialization, billing terms, and revenue recognition within a remote setting. You will liaise with Project Managers, Contracts, and Accounting to ensure accurate project structures and compliant financial reporting across the project lifecycle.

Responsibilities include configuring WBS, reviewing contracts, and preventing billing issues, while guiding stakeholders on best practices and continuous process improvement

Qualifications

• Experience in an AEC or professional services environment.
• Experience in project-finance roles such as Project Analyst or Project Accountant.
• Deep understanding of WBS, project setup processes, and lifecycle management.
• Ability to translate contract requirements into project financial system configurations.
• Strong knowledge of project billing, revenue recognition, and financial controls.
• Hands-on experience configuring Microsoft Dynamics for project-based accounting.

Responsibilities

• Serve as liaison between Project Managers, Contracts, and Project Accounting through the setup process.
• Review and approve project setups before handoff to Project Accounting.
• Establish accurate project structures, billing terms, and revenue rules in Dynamics.
• Build and review WBS and project coding for accurate tracking and reporting.
• Analyze contracts to ensure alignment with requirements and policies.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to design efficient project structures for billing and reporting.
• Review transactions and labor charges to identify revenue or billing issues and recommend actions.
• Validate revenue recognition and billing configurations in Dynamics.
• Provide guidance and best practices on project setup and internal controls.
• Troubleshoot discrepancies and implement corrective actions in Dynamics.
