Layton Construction seeks an Assistant Project Manager in Phoenix to assist planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects. You will help ensure quality, owner satisfaction, and profitability while fostering customer relationships under our Layton ethos.

Responsibilities include pre-construction planning, subcontracts negotiation, schedule development, and monitoring pay requests. The role emphasizes collaboration, ethics, and problem solving to deliver on-time results.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, preferably in light industrial or cold storage.
• Demonstrates excellent communication and negotiation skills.
• Understands construction laws, codes, and reads blueprints correctly.
• Strong work ethic, problem solving, teamwork, and organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, management, and execution of assigned construction projects.
• Prepare estimates, project Budgets and unit cost reports; organize pre-construction planning meetings.
• Negotiate subcontracts and manage change orders and project schedules.
• Develop monthly client pay requests and monitor collections; control costs and lien releases.
• Maintain project schedules and ensure quality, safety, and risk management plans.
• Mentor project and field engineers and coordinate with stakeholders.
