Job summary

Scituate Public School District is seeking two Special Education Aides for the 2025-2026 school year. Aides will work closely with designated Special Education or General Education teachers to support students in the Special Education program across different settings.

Responsibilities include administering tests, proctoring MCAS, preparing materials, and assisting with assistive technology. A strong emphasis on confidentiality and collaboration with the liaison and teachers is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Ability to work with students in a tutorial capacity.
• Ability to follow directions of the Special Education Teacher and building Principal.
• Current authorization to work in the United States by the first day of employment.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily tests and quizzes.
• Proctor MCAS groups per DESE protocol.
• Provide coverage for teachers during meetings.
• Prepare materials for the special education department.
• Set up assistive technology for student use.
• Weekly training/consultation with liaison as scheduled.
• Informal ongoing communication with liaison regarding student progress.
• Reinforce previously taught concepts in small groups.
• Duties designated by the Principal.
• Document students' progress academically and behaviorally.
• Be aware of confidentiality protocol.
• Reinforce instruction under a Special Education Teacher’s supervision.
• Perform other related duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.
