Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to protect guests, team members and the store. You will engage with guests, de-escalate issues and document incidents, using Target's surveillance tools to maintain a safe shopping environment.

The role requires physical readiness, teamwork and adherence to AP policies, with training provided to build skill in crisis response and security protocols.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to operate handheld scanners and other tech as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Create an easy, inspiring and friendly guest experience.
• Greet guests and assist with finding items or resolving issues.
• End every guest interaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and help peers as needed.
• Promote a safe security culture throughout the store.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly in the case system.
• Detect and prevent theft; perform merchandise checks per policy.
• Document incidents in the case management system following AP policy.
