Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to maintain guest and team safety, protect assets, and support daily store operations. You will engage with guests, deter theft, document incidents, and operate surveillance systems in a fast-paced retail environment.

The role requires 18+ years old, a high school diploma, and the ability to work flexible shifts including nights and weekends. Training will cover safety, de-escalation, and AP procedures.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet any state or local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and other team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners, and other technology equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work both independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Capability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and accomplish multiple tasks within established timeframes.

• Greet, 10ft: be friendly, smile, eye contact or wave; 4ft: greet the guest, smile and initiate a warm interaction.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• End every guest transaction with a sincere thank you.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a positive attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture and ensure safe standards storewide.
• Respond to and document security incidents promptly.
• Use Target's video surveillance system appropriately.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and provide theft apprehension support as needed.
• Prevent theft by performing merchandise receipt checks and recognizing trends.
• Document all incidents in the case management system following AP policy.
