Job summary

Target is hiring a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and merchandise in a busy retail store. You will greet customers, assist with finding items, and respond to incidents using Target's surveillance and case-management tools.

The role emphasizes teamwork, flexibility, and strong communication while maintaining a safe, welcoming shopping environment. Training and development are provided as part of a dynamic store team.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other equipment as directed.
• Effective communication skills and the ability to work independently and with a team.
• Capable of remaining focused in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Create an Easy, Inspiring and Friendly guest experience by greeting guests and assisting them.
• Help guests find what they need and resolve issues for a smooth shopping experience.
• Respond to security incidents and document cases promptly in the system.
• Maintain a safe and secure store environment and support loss prevention efforts.
• Conduct theft recoveries and provide apprehension support as needed per AP policies.
• Perform merchandise receipt checks to prevent theft and communicate trends.
• Report hazards and follow safety policies at all times.
• All other duties based on business needs.
