Job summary

Target is seeking a Security Specialist to help protect guests, team members, and the store while delivering friendly, proactive service. You will work in a fast-paced environment with flexible hours, helping to de-escalate situations and secure merchandise and store assets.

Responsibilities include maintaining safety standards, using surveillance tools, documenting incidents, and supporting store leadership. Strong communication and teamwork are essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Meet state/local licensure and/or other legal requirements related to the position.
• Welcoming and helpful attitude toward all guests and team members.
• Ability to communicate on multiple frequency devices and operate handheld scanners and other equipment.
• Effective communication skills.
• Work independently and with a team.
• Manage workload and prioritize tasks independently.
• Remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

Responsibilities

• Create a positive guest experience by greeting guests and assisting with needs.
• Support team efforts and assist peers while maintaining a respectful attitude.
• Promote a physical security culture and maintain safe standards store-wide.
• Respond to security incidents promptly and document accurately.
• Use de-escalation techniques and Target's video surveillance system as required.
• Conduct merchandise theft recoveries and assist with loss prevention duties.
• Document incidents in the case management system per AP policy.
