Job summary

Navy Region Southeast Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a versatile Recreation/Information Assistant at NCBC Gulfport to support MWR events, information services, and program delivery. You will assist with equipment rentals, ticketing, and registration while maintaining customer-focused service and safety standards.

The role includes cash handling, POS operations, and helping with setup, breakdown, and daily facility maintenance.

Qualifications

• General experience of 0-3 months or equivalent preferred.
• Knowledge of MWR facilities to assist customers.
• Skilled in keyboarding and operation of POS systems.
• Ability to perform basic computer operations.
• Ability to read and understand published rules and procedures.
• Ability to perform basic custodial tasks and arithmetic.
• Ability to identify customer needs and deliver service.
• Effective oral and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide information and support for recreation and fitness programs.
• Inform patrons about facilities and operations.
• Maintain safety, security, and compliance with regulations.
• Assist with clerical, custodial, or maintenance tasks as needed.
• Operate POS, handle transactions, rentals, registrations, and payments.
• Greet patrons, answer phones, take messages and referrals.
