Job summary

Navy Region Hawaii Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Recreation Assistant to support the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation programs at Barber Point Beach Cottages. You will help deliver diverse leisure activities, assist with event planning, operations, and customer service to base patrons.

Qualifications

• Combination of experience related to customer service or recreation activity-based functions.
• Ability to organize, plan, administer special events and entertainment activities.
• Must be able to work independently, make sound decisions and communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Knowledge of goals, principles and procedures used in organizing, planning and conducting leisure time activities.
• Knowledge of Navy MWR mission and Community Recreation activities and their suitability for various groups.

Responsibilities

• Provides customer service, information and support of Community Recreation programs and activities.
• Handles attendance, eligibility checks, facilities access and information for activities and rentals.
• Executes sales via POS and processes fees for tickets, rentals, classes, trips, etc.
• Maintains inventories, completes inspections and reports on equipment and resources.
• Assists with planning and execution of events and outreach, and updates listings and marketing materials.
