Job summary

Navy Region Mid-Atlantic Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) Virginia Beach is seeking a Community Recreation Assistant to support the Morale, Welfare, and Recreation (MWR) program. You will assist with events, manage reservations, provide information, process admissions and rentals, and help maintain recreation facilities and equipment on base.

The role emphasizes customer service, cash handling, and daily reporting.

Qualifications

Experience in customer service and recreation or program activities.
Ability to organize, plan, and administer events and entertainment activities.
Effective communication skills, both oral and written.
Knowledge of recreation activities and customer needs.
Ability to maintain records and prepare reports.

Responsibilities

Provides customer service and information for Community Recreation programs and activities, including eligibility checks and facility operations.
Processes sales and rentals using POS and computer systems; manages daily sales and DAR reporting.
Handles registrations, event sign-ups, and program enrollments.
Checks in/out equipment and maintains inventory; reports damages or loss.
Assists with event planning, recruitment, and scheduling of staff; supports outreach.
Performs administrative duties and maintains program data and standards.
