Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to assist the Staff Physical Therapist with resident-related activities and direct resident care in a post-acute setting.

You will document accurately, maintain infection control, participate in care conferences, educate residents and families on exercises and safety, coordinate with physicians and nursing staff, and help order durable medical equipment as needed.

Qualifications

• Associate Degree or higher in Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) from an accredited program.
• Proficient computer skills; familiarity with healthcare software systems (Net Health, PointClickCare).
• Ability to read and interpret policy and procedure manuals.
• Strong communication skills with managers, coworkers, and residents’ families.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Physical Therapist with resident care as directed.
• Complete timely, accurate documentation in line with facility and payer requirements.
• Maintain a safe treatment environment and follow infection control protocols.
• Participate in Resident Care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
• Educate residents and families on home exercise programs and safety.
• Recommend necessary durable medical equipment to facilitate independence.
