Job summary

PACS is seeking a Staff Physical Therapist Assistant to support the Staff Physical Therapist in resident care and rehabilitation. You will assist with treatment, documentation, and education, ensuring safety and adherence to regulations across the care team.

Expect to contribute to care planning, equipment recommendations, and ongoing training for staff while maintaining confidentiality and quality standards within a post-acute healthcare setting.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree from an accredited PTA program.
  • Proficient in computer skills such as inputting data into Net Health and Point Click Care.
  • Language skills: read technical procedures.
  • Ability to read and comprehend policy and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to present information to managers, coworkers and families.
  • Math concepts: fractions, percentages, ratios, proportions.

Responsibilities

  • Treat residents as directed by the Physical Therapist.
  • Complete timely, accurate documentation per facility and payer requirements.
  • Maintain a safe treatment environment with infection control and equipment safety.
  • Participate in Resident Care conferences and rehabilitation meetings.
  • Educate residents and families on treatment goals, home exercise, safety and fall prevention.
  • Coordinate with physicians, nursing and the rehab team on progress and discharge planning.
