Job summary

REGENCY IHS THERAPY CONSULTING LLC seeks a Physical Therapist Assistant for the Houston Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The PTA implements therapeutic programs under supervision, including exercises, gait training, and mobility activities.

Responsibilities include coordinating with the supervising PT and Rehab Director, teaching patients, documenting responses, and participating in case conferences to optimize outcomes. Must have Texas PTA license; home health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two year PTA program accredited/approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
• Current Texas license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Two year experience in home health setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and collaborates with the Physical Therapist and Rehab Director to integrate the therapeutic program into the plan of care.
• Guides and teaches patients in techniques, exercises, or precautions to improve ROM, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, or function as directed by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observes, records, and reports patient responses and changes in condition; documents involvement in decisions affecting care.
• Participates in patient case conferences to coordinate plan of care and outcomes.
• Reports patient complaints of pain or unusual reactions to treatment to the Physical Therapist and Coordinator.
