Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services seeks a dedicated Physical Therapist Assistant for the Houston Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Houston, TX. The PTA implements therapeutic programs under the supervision of a Physical Therapist, including therapeutic exercise, gait training and related activities.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two-year college level curriculum in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Current license by the State of Texas to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Two-year home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and collaborate with the Physical Therapist and Rehab Director to integrate the therapeutic program into the plan of care.
• Guide and teach patients in exercises and precautions to improve ROM, strength, balance, coordination, endurance, or functional ability as approved by the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Observe, record, and report patient response to treatment and changes in condition or treatment; document involvement in decisions affecting care.
• Participate in patient case conferences to coordinate the plan of care and promote positive outcomes.
• Report patient pain, sickness or unusual reactions to treatment to the Physical Therapist and Coordinator.
