Job summary

Regency Integrated Health Services is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for a PRN role at Houston Heights Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. The PTA implements therapeutic programs under supervision, including exercises, gait training, and activities of physical therapy.

The PTA coordinates with the Rehab Director, educates patients on techniques, and documents responses and plan of care progress. Requires TX licensure and a two-year PTA program; home health experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Graduate of a two year college level curriculum in Physical Therapy Assistant as accredited/approved by APTA.
• Current Texas licensure to practice as a PTA.
• Two years of home health experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and collaborates with PT and Rehab Director to integrate the therapeutic program into the plan of care.
• Guides patients in ROM, strength, balance, and functional exercises as directed by supervisor.
• Observes and reports patient responses and changes in condition; documents involvement in care decisions.
• Participates in patient case conferences to coordinate the plan of care and outcomes.
• Reports pain, sickness, or adverse reactions to PT and Coordinator.
