Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Physical Therapy Assistant.
• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) - Illinois IDFPR licensing requirement.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Attend and satisfactorily complete required continuing education on acute stroke care.
• Required to successfully complete board exam on the next available exam date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students, and other health care providers using teaching methods.
• Follows the therapist's plan of care and adjusts treatment based on patient response after communication with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation per Clinical Documentation Policy CTSCP67.
• If applicable, completes annual education to comply with DNV Hip and Knee Certification requirements.
• Implements intervention plans according to the Physical Therapist's plan of care and documents progress.
