Job summary

Carle Health is hiring a Physical Therapy Assistant to implement the plan of care, educate patients and collaborate with the PT team. You will deliver therapeutic exercises, gait and balance training, and aquatic therapy while documenting care in the EMR and coordinating with the supervising therapist.

Qualifications

• Licensed Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) required.
• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association.
• Board Eligible/Required to complete the board exam on the next available date.

Responsibilities

• Educates patients, family, caregivers, students and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Follows therapist's plan of care; adjusts treatment based on patient response and communicates with the evaluating therapist.
• Produces documentation per policy and daily notes.
• Completes annual education to comply with program requirements.
• Provides treatment interventions including therapeutic exercise, gait and balance training, ultrasound and electrical stimulation.
• Administers aquatic therapy and documents in the EMR; coordinates with PT on treatment interventions.
