Job summary

Carle Health in Virginia Beach seeks a Licensed Physical Therapist to evaluate and treat patients of all ages, modifying care plans as needed. You will serve as a clinical resource for staff and students while delivering high-quality physical therapy services.

You will design and adjust plans of care, educate patients and families, and collaborate with the care team to achieve optimal outcomes and timely discharge planning.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 30 days - American Heart Association (AHA).
• Licensed Physical Therapist (PT).
• Bachelor's Degree: Physical Therapy (Required).

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates transfer techniques with assistance as needed and uses safe body mechanics.
• Designs an appropriate plan of care with goals, treatment, outcomes, and discharge plan.
• Educates patients, families, caregivers, and other health care providers using effective teaching methods.
• Evaluates clinical findings to determine PT diagnoses and outcomes of care.
• Performs examinations using reliable methods relevant to chief complaint and history.
• Documents in EMR in accordance with policy.
• Communicates with referring providers on patient progress and recommendations.
• Monitors care delivered by support personnel and provides feedback.
• Completes required annual education for HIP/knee replacement program requirements.
