University of Missouri Health Care is seeking a dynamic Patient Access Specialist to join MU DOC Communication Center in Columbia, MO. You will provide patients with provider information, directions, and instructions while delivering outstanding customer service in a fast-paced healthcare environment.

This onsite role offers future potential to work remote after training. You will interview callers, manage multidisciplinary scheduling, monitor calls, and help remove access barriers to ensure

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent. One year of related experience in a medical office, hospital, medical call center, or similar customer service environment.
Education may be used in lieu of work experience.

Responsibilities

Provide patients with information on providers, directions to locations and special instructions.
Interview caller to obtain full understanding of information being requested.
Monitor calls and distribute work to team and/or sections for completion of requests/needs.
Responsible for satisfying the customer and maintaining the image of MUHC.
Participate in training and observation of new team members.
