Job summary

City of Fairfield seeks PAL Recreation Specialists to lead a range of activities at assigned program sites, including health and fitness, festive events, and outreach functions. The role is part-time, year-round, non-benefited, with a maximum of 1,000 hours per fiscal year, and requires ability to work varied schedules including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Incumbents may travel to multiple City sites and outdoor locations; a valid California driver's license may be required.

Qualifications

• No prior experience is necessary.
• Possession of a valid Class C California Driver's License may be required. Possession of a valid equivalent is acceptable during the application process.
• Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule dependent upon program requirements.

Responsibilities

• Monitor program and site rules, policies and regulations.
• Provide courteous and professional service to all program participants, facility users, City personnel and the public.
• Monitor behavior of program participants.
• Conduct set up and clean-up of facility and equipment; may be charged with the opening and closing duties.
• Assist with miscellaneous office tasks, i.e. retrieving and distributing mail, receiving shipments, delivering items to program sites.
