Job summary

Capital Lumber Company is seeking a detail‑oriented Customer Service Associate to answer calls, enter and coordinate orders, and handle invoicing and inventory control. The role works cross-functionally with branch teams to ensure timely information flow and accurate deliveries.

Responsibilities include pricing, vendor coordination, and processing billing while maintaining up-to-date product knowledge. The position operates Monday through Friday in a climate-controlled indoor environment.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or commensurate industry experience.
• Proficiency in MS Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and order/inventory software.
• Strong multitasking, analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent cross-cultural communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to interact with team members and vendors/suppliers.

Responsibilities

• Answer customer calls and write orders, providing pricing, product and delivery information.
• Coordinate orders with operations and sales as needed.
• Assist customers with order issues and communicate status to Account Managers.
• Issue vendor debit/credit memos to correct discrepancies.
• Process all billing and invoicing to customers.
• Maintain and balance physical inventory with perpetual records; initiate adjustments as needed.
• Participate in physical inventories and maintain product knowledge.
