Job summary

Eocene Environmental Group in Rapid City is seeking an On-Call Archaeologist I to support cultural resource projects through surveys and field monitoring. The role requires strong archaeological documentation skills and a Bachelor’s degree in a related field, along with relevant experience.

Ideal candidates will be adept at utilizing GPS technology and comply with all safety regulations while working independently or as part of a team. Excellent communication skills and dependability are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of relevant experience required.
• Ability to conduct probing or shovel testing.
• Ability to operate 4WD vehicles over rough terrain.
• Spanish language proficiency is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Class III/Phase I cultural resource surveys.
• Perform construction monitoring and document cultural materials.
• Complete cultural desktop reviews and prepare draft deliverables.
• Adhere to safety protocols and comply with regulations.
