Job summary

Central States Pain Clinic in West Des Moines, IA is seeking a Medical Scribe to document patient encounters in real time and support efficient clinical workflows alongside physicians. This role requires a High School Diploma or GED and strong communication skills.

You will maintain accurate medical records, assist with EHR management (eCW), and help anticipate provider needs during visits. The position offers a Monday–Thursday schedule with no weekends and a comprehensive benefits package.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Excellent communication, listening, typing, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational abilities.
• Ability to multitask and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Accompany physicians during examinations and accurately document medical histories, findings, diagnoses, treatment plans, prescriptions, and follow-up instructions.
• Transcribe physician orders for labs, imaging, medications, and other treatments.
• Document procedures and maintain complete, accurate electronic health records.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments, including proactively offering earlier openings when cancellations occur.
• Schedule follow-up appointments at checkout and document any inability to schedule follow-up care.
• Perform additional duties that support efficient clinical operations.
