Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care within a dynamic clinical team. The role involves preparing patients, obtaining vital signs, updating medication lists, and assisting with examinations and procedures under provider supervision.

The ideal candidate will have a Medical Assistant program completion, CPR certification, and either a completed degree or pending certification within 120 days of hire. Occasional travel between AHN locations may be required.

Qualifications

• High School / GED or completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Certification required within 120 days of hire.
• Certified Medical Assistant (NHA, AAMA, AMT, NCCT, AMCA)
• CPR - American Heart Association

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision of the health care provider.
• Prepare exam rooms and obtain vital signs, document information and screenings.
• Review medication lists in the EHR and assist with orders for screenings and prescriptions.
• Assist providers with examinations and procedures; may serve as a scribe.
• Follow up with patients and notify test results per provider instructions.
• Maintain inventory and sterilize instruments; perform lab controls and equipment checks.
• Document accurately in the EHR and perform clerical duties; may float between locations.
