Job summary

Allegheny Health Network is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under the supervision of healthcare providers. This role involves rooming patients, taking vital signs, updating medical history, and assisting with screenings and procedures according to AHN protocols.

The position requires a Medical Assistant program completion (high school diploma acceptable) with certification within 120 days of hire; CPR and background clearances are also required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or completion of a medical assistant program is required.
• Preferred: Associate's degree.
• Certification requirements include CMA, RMA, or other recognized Medical Assistant credentials within specified timeframes.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate patient care under supervision, using a team-based approach.
• Prepare and room patients per standardized workflows.
• Record vital signs and patient information in the EHR.
• Assist with screenings and administrative tasks.
• Maintain inventory and ensure exam rooms are stocked with supplies.
• Perform lab controls and assist with examinations and procedures.
