Job summary

MAA in Richmond, VA is seeking a Leasing Manager to lead leasing, marketing and customer service at an assigned apartment community. You will train staff, manage prospecting, conduct tours and oversee day-to-day leasing operations to maximize occupancy and resident satisfaction.

The role requires a high school diploma and experience in apartment leasing; a bachelor’s degree and CAM or NALP certification are preferred.

Qualifications

• Required: High school diploma/GED and at least 1 year of apartment leasing experience.
• Preferred: Bachelor’s degree; leasing/marketing management experience; CAM or NALP certification.

Responsibilities

• Provides direction and guidance to staff performing leasing, marketing and customer service.
• On-the-job training and coaching for leasing staff; assist with recruitment and performance management.
• Maintains incoming prospect data and shares with staff and management as needed.
• Develops and implements creative marketing methods to attract prospective residents and increase traffic.
• Leases apartments to prospective residents and explains value proposition of the property.
• Responds to inquiries and schedules property tours; qualifies residents for leases.
• Notifies prospects of approval or disapproval; assists with lease agreements and move-in process.
• Maintains resident files and promotes positive resident relations.
• Proactively contacts residents with expiring leases to propose renewals and process renewals.
• Ensures adherence to MAA policies and safety rules; supports corporate culture initiatives.
• Monitors property landscape for safety hazards and quality aesthetics.
• May require weekends/holidays and occasional air travel.
