Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• For Title I schools: ESSA requirements and six semester hours in childhood education, OR two years of work in a childhood setting.

Responsibilities

• Provides assistance with activities and duties that implement the total school program, assists teachers in instructional activities, and ensures a safe, encouraging environment.
• Aids teachers with planning and organizing, evaluating instructional activities, and preparing materials; ensures materials are available per lesson plan.
• Demonstrates professional and technical skills to support the school program.
• Works with individual students and groups in different classrooms as needed.
• Participates in district staff development and professional growth.
• Maintains a positive disposition, exercises good judgement, and remains calm with students.
• May perform vision and hearing screenings and enter results into EASi; training provided if needed.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
