Job summary

Wake County Public School System is seeking an Instructional Assistant to support teachers and students across elementary, middle, or high school settings. You will assist in instructional activities, reinforce skills, and prepare materials to ensure a safe, engaging learning environment.

The IA will help monitor student progress, support diverse learners, and contribute to a positive school culture while following FERPA guidelines and district policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• ESSA Title I eligibility may apply for Title I schools.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Google Apps is expected.

Responsibilities

• Assist in instructional activities and support school program.
• Help with planning, organizing, and preparing materials.
• Demonstrate professional skills to support classroom program.
• Support individual students or small groups as directed.
• Participate in staff development and growth.
• Maintain positive attitude and calmness with students.
• May conduct vision/hearing screenings and record results.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
