Job summary

Methodist Southwest Medical Center in Dallas, TX seeks a Full-time Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) to provide adult and neonatal respiratory care. Responsibilities include ABG, PFTs, ventilator support, oxygen and aerosol therapy, and airway maintenance under indirect supervision of the medical director.

Requirements include graduation from an accredited Respiratory Care Program, BLS/ACLS, NRP/PALS within 1 year, Texas license, NBRC registration, and at least 6 months of experience in

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Respiratory Care Program.

Responsibilities

• Performs respiratory therapeutics including oxygen administration, weaning, aerosol and humidity therapy, IPPB, Incentive Spirometry, airway maintenance, bronchial hygiene, chest physiotherapy, CPR and mechanical ventilation.
• Reports prescribed cardiopulmonary diagnostic procedures: ABG analysis, pulse oximetry, pulmonary function studies, ECG.
• Prepares treatment evaluations: bedside respiratory assessment, patient interview, review of medical records.
• Uses critical thinking to determine appropriate actions.
• Interprets CXR, ABG, and PFT data.
• Assembles, checks, and troubleshoots cardiopulmonary equipment: ventilators, oxygen analyzers, delivery devices, gas analyzers.
• Contributes to infection control, safety and quality assurance.
• Performs cleaning and maintenance of equipment and work areas.
• Follows customer scripting to improve patient satisfaction.
• Performs other duties as required.
