Job summary

Instructors (Non-Contract/Temporary) provide comprehensive classroom instruction under a dean’s direction, up to 67% of a full-time assignment, to diverse student populations across multiple campuses.

Qualifications

• Master’s in computer science or computer engineering OR Bachelor’s in either of the above AND Master’s in mathematics, cybernetics, business administration, accounting or engineering OR Bachelor’s in engineering AND Master’s in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration OR Bachelor’s in mathematics AND Master’s in cybernetics, engineering, mathematics, or business administration OR Bachelor’s degree in any of the above AND a master’s degree in information science, computer information systems, or information systems; OR the equivalent* OR possession of a valid California Community College Teaching Credential appropriate to the discipline.

Responsibilities

• Provide academic instruction to students through lecture, lab, or performance courses; assess and develop cognitive abilities, communication skills, and higher order thinking skills among students in various settings.
• Advise and instruct students regarding programs of study, other institutions of higher education, lifelong learning resources, and effective study skills; refer students to support services when needed.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback in class, online, or during office hours.
• Plan and organize instruction according to approved course outlines and student learning outcomes to maximize student learning.
• Maintain current records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and outcomes; submit data timely.

Education
