Ventura County Community College District seeks part-time instructors (non-contact/temporary) for Oxnard College pools for Spring 2027, Summer 2027, and Fall 2027. Instructors may be employed up to 67% of a full-time assignment under Education Code provisions.

Under the general direction of a dean, these roles provide comprehensive classroom instruction to diverse students, supporting their academic and vocational objectives. Applications encourage those with equivalent qualifications to apply.

Qualifications

• Master’s in the language being taught OR Bachelor’s in the language being taught AND Master’s in another language or linguistics; OR the equivalent OR possession of an appropriate California Community College Credential.
• All coursework must be from a recognized accredited college or university.
• Foreign transcripts explanation and equivalency considerations are described for education outside the United States.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive classroom instruction to students in diverse backgrounds and support attainment of academic or vocational objectives.
• Advise students on programs of study and available resources; refer to support services when needed.
• Observe and evaluate student performance and provide timely feedback on course objectives and student learning outcomes.
• Plan and organize instruction aligned with approved course outlines and learning outcomes.
• Maintain records of enrollment, attendance, progress, and prepare related reports.
• Evaluate and select instructional materials and update course content in line with new developments.
• May participate in curriculum development and departmental activities.
