Job summary

Life Care Centers of America is seeking a COTA to provide direct occupational therapy services under the supervision of a licensed OT. The role requires NBCOT certification at hire, state licensure, and CPR certification, with new grads welcome.

This position emphasizes collaboration with patients and families, adherence to post-acute care standards, and accurate documentation. Proficiency in Word, Excel, and email is expected for effective care coordination.

Qualifications

• NBCOT certification required upon hire; renewal optional
• Graduate of an accredited occupational therapy program (ASOT)
• Must be licensed/registered in the applicable state with an active license
• One year experience preferred; new grads welcome to apply
• CPR certification upon hire or during orientation; CPR must remain current

Responsibilities

• Participates in community health matters/projects as appropriate
• Liaisons with patients, families, support departments, etc., to plan for patient needs
• Demonstrate good body mechanics at all times
• Make independent decisions when circumstances warrant such action
• Knowledgeable of laws and guidelines governing functions in post-acute care facility
• Implement and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures of the department
• Follow occupational treatment plans under the direction of the supervising OT
• Chart appropriately and timely
• Utilize therapy software appropriately and accurately
• Exhibit excellent customer service and a positive attitude towards patients
• Assist in the evacuation of patients
• Demonstrate dependable, regular attendance
• Read, write, speak, and understand the English language
