Job summary

San Benito CISD seeks a Classroom Teacher (Exempt) to deliver core subject instruction, develop lesson plans, and assess student progress in a 187-day academic calendar. The role reports to the campus principal and requires adherence to district policies.

The ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor's degree and a valid Texas teaching certificate or an eligibility letter from an Alternative Certification Program, with strong classroom management and collaboration skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university.
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements OR eligibility letter from an Alternative Certification Program.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement lesson plans aligned with the district curriculum.
• Prepare lessons with accommodations for diverse learning styles.
• Present subject matter according to TEA guidelines and district policies.
• Plan and use instructional strategies and materials for student needs.
• Assess student learning and adjust instruction accordingly.
• Collaborate with special education staff to modify curricula as needed.
• Set instructional goals with staff and supervise aides/volunteers.
• Use technology to enhance the teaching/learning process.
• Communicate with parents, students, and community members.
• Attend faculty meetings and participate on committees as required.
