Job summary

Navy Region Hawaii Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) seeks a Child and Youth Program Leader to provide direct care and instruction for children and youth from 6 weeks to 18 years. The role includes mentoring CY Program Assistants, guiding curriculum and activities, and ensuring compliance with DoD and local policies.

The incumbent works under supervision, coordinating with the Training and Curriculum Specialist to advance staff development and program quality while maintaining safety standards

Qualifications

• Knowledge of developmentally appropriate programs for ages 6 weeks to 18 years.
• Knowledge of child and youth development principles and practices.
• Ability to apply federal and state laws on child abuse prevention.

Responsibilities

• Mentor CY Program Assistants and translate training to practice.
• Plan activities meeting physical, social, emotional, and cognitive needs.
• Develop curriculum outlines and lesson guides for program participants.
• Oversee indoor and outdoor environments and supervise daily activities.
• Communicate with parents, employees, and installation personnel.
• Assist in assessments and document developmental progress.
