Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking a dedicated teacher for IDEA Academy in Texas to deliver rigorous instruction and assess mastery toward college readiness. You will plan, deliver, and adapt lessons, analyze data, and communicate student progress weekly to families.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, teaching certification, and previous K-12 experience; reading academies certification and ESL/bilingual credentials are preferred. Competitive compensation and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification or relevant experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Reading Academies certification or willingness to obtain TX training; bilingual/ESL certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track student progress with formal and informal assessments; update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly.
• Use technology to improve student achievement and manage tasks.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives.
• Foster a productive school-wide culture and strong student relationships.
• Establish trust-based relationships with students and families.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed; participate in weekly meetings and duties.
• Engage in ongoing district, school, and personal learning and development.
