Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is hiring for an IDEA Academy teacher who will implement state standards and curricula, plan and assess student progress, and engage families weekly. The role emphasizes rigorous instruction, data-driven interventions, and active participation in a collaborative IDEA team environment.

Requirements include a Bachelor's Degree, K-12 teaching experience, and preferred Reading Academies certification, with compensation that includes base salary plus stipends and performance-based

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency evidenced by teaching certification or equivalent experience.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year institution (required).
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Reading Academies certification per TEA requirements or willingness to obtain within timelines (TX).

Responsibilities

• Implement state standards and IDEA curricula and assessments.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate student progress with families on a weekly basis.
• Maintain a clear behavior management system and foster a positive classroom culture.
• Provide after-school tutoring or Saturday sessions as needed.
• Engage in ongoing professional development and district/school-wide initiatives.
