Job summary

IDEA Public Schools is seeking an experienced teacher for IDEA Academy, serving K‑12 students across our campuses. You will implement state standards, deliver rigorous instruction, assess progress, and communicate student growth to families on a regular basis.

The role requires a bachelor’s degree, teaching certification, and K‑12 classroom experience. Certifications such as Reading Academies and ESL are highly valued, with benefits including family leave and tuition reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required)
• Teaching certification in core subject area
• Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (preferred)
• Reading Academies certification for K-3 or willingness to obtain within required timelines
• Bilingual certification strongly preferred; ESL certification preferred (not required)

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback
• Track each student’s progress and adjust instruction; update gradebook weekly
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families weekly
• Use technology to communicate and enhance learning and manage tasks
• Establish consistent behavior management aligned with campus initiatives and community
• Foster a positive school culture and collaborative relationships with students and families
