Job summary

IDEA Public Schools in Fort Worth, TX is seeking an IDEA Academy Teacher to ensure students master academic and social skills for college readiness. Responsibilities include planning rigorous instruction, assessing mastery, and engaging families in student progress.

The role emphasizes teaching core subjects in a K-12 aligned setting with a focus on data-driven instruction, effective classroom management, and active participation in campus culture and development.

Qualifications

• High level of content-area proficiency as evidenced by teaching certification, field of study, or work-experience (strongly preferred).
• Education: Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year educational institution (required).
• Experience: Experience in a K-12 classroom setting (strongly preferred).
• Licenses or Certifications: Reading Academies certification or TX training within required timelines; bilingual/ESL certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement state learning standards and IDEA curricula and assessments to meet ambitious academic expectations.
• Submit weekly lesson plans two weeks in advance for feedback.
• Track each student’s progress with formal and informal assessments and update gradebook weekly.
• Communicate students’ progress with students and families on a weekly basis.
• Use technology to communicate and support learning and manage tasks.
• Establish a clear behavior management system aligned with campus initiatives and develop students’ character.
• Contribute to a positive school culture and community for every student.
• Build trusting relationships with students and families across the community.
• Host tutoring sessions as needed to meet student needs.
• Participate in weekly meetings and after-school duties as required.
