Job summary

The Salvation Army is seeking a Dual Diagnosis Counselor for Goose Creek Correctional Center in Wasilla, AK. You will manage SBIRT/ASAM assessments, develop treatment plans, and lead groups addressing co-occurring disorders within the ADOC SATS program.

You will work under the SATS Coordinator in a contract-based, full-time role, ensuring compliance, accurate documentation, and client reentry planning. Alaska certifications and state requirements are essential.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Behavioral Health Sciences or related field and two years’ related experience.
• Knowledge of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders (SRAAD) and its treatment.
• Experience with Alaska State Certification CDCI or CDCII preferred; able to obtain CDCI within one year.
• Must have at least Alaska State Counselor Technician certificate or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM Integrated assessments and develop treatment plans.
• Facilitate groups addressing chemical dependency, substance abuse, co-occurring disorders, and criminal thinking.
• Monitor client progress toward treatment goals and complete documentation on schedule.
• Ensure compliance with ADOC SATS contract requirements and contribute to reentry planning.
