Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory seeks a SATS Co-Occurring Counselor to manage a caseload within an Alaska Department of Corrections setting. You will conduct SBIRT and ASAM assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and facilitate groups addressing chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.

You will work under the SATS Coordinator, ensuring contract obligations are met, and maintain meticulous documentation while supporting clients toward recovery and reintegration.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Behavioral Health Sciences or related field with two years' related experience.
• Knowledge of Substance Related and Addictive Disorders (SRAAD) and its treatment.
• alaska state certification requirements: CDCI/CDC II eligibility or certification and ability to obtain CDCI within one year.

Responsibilities

• Conduct SBIRT and ASAM Integrated assessments.
• Facilitate groups addressing chemical dependency and co-occurring disorders.
• Develop treatment plans and reentry planning as needed.
• Monitor client progress and ensure documentation compliance.
• Complete contract-required documentation in a timely manner.
