Job summary

Northeast Texas Community College seeks an on-site Academic Advisor to build relationships with high schools and guide students through dual credit and enrollment processes. You will handle admissions, registrations, and financial aid workflows, supporting on-campus students as needed.

Qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree and 2 years of related experience. Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving abilities are essential; bilingual applicants are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum two years related experience with high school or college students preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; bilingual preferred.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills are required.
• Ability to maintain relationships with state agencies and local educational institutions.
• Working knowledge of a student information system/software applications.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain relationships with high schools, students, parents, and school personnel.
• Provide guidance on dual credit enrollment, college readiness, and academic planning.
• Conduct advising sessions for students and families on goals and course selection.
• Manage dual credit enrollment, admissions, registration, and documentation for each student.
• Coordinate presentations and outreach at high schools to promote college access.
• Assist with FAFSA and scholarship applications and follow enrollment steps.
