Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited (WOU) is an ESOP-style employer serving people with diverse skills since 1982. The DSP/Work & Community Support role involves hands-on job coaching, advocacy, and guiding participants to independence in their community.

You will travel locally to accompany individuals to work and activities, with mileage reimbursement, while maintaining daytime hours. The position emphasizes collaborative teamwork, customer-service excellence, and growth through a potential

Qualifications

• Comfortable documenting notes in an electronic system and using apps on a mobile device.

DSP/Work & Community Support (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)

engage individuals in work, recreation, and other personal activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community. Work & Community Support gives the individual the opportunity to participate in activities that will put them on a path to independence.

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual's employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

Additional requirements include:

• Valid driver's license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday - Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $19-$22 per hour
