Work Opportunities Unlimited in Gray, Maine is seeking a DSP/Work & Community Support Specialist (Career Resource Specialist). You will engage individuals in work, recreation, and activities that promote living a preferred lifestyle in their community, helping them gain independence and meaningful daily participation.

A typical day includes long-term on-site job support, coaching and advocacy, and guiding participation in community activities.

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community.
Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time).
Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device.

Responsibilities

Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment.
Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace.
Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills.
Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

DSP/Work & Community Support (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)
