Job summary

Work Opportunities Unlimited, an ESOP company, seeks a DSP/Work & Community Support Specialist to provide on-site job support and coaching for individuals with diverse abilities. The role includes traveling within the local community and accompanying clients to work sites, offices, and community activities to foster independence and skill development.

You will work in a collaborative team, with opportunities for growth through a Management Training Program.

Qualifications

• Experience in high-touch customer service environments is preferred.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and documentation skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and mobile apps for field work.

Responsibilities

• Provide long-term, on-site job support for individuals during employment.
• Coach and advocate to promote workplace success and independence.
• Support participation in community activities to build self-advocacy and communication skills.
• Travel daily within the local community to accompany individuals to work and activities.

DSP/Work & Community Support Specialists (known internally as a Career Resource Specialist)

A typical day might include the following:

• Provide long-term, on-site, job support for the duration of an individual’s employment
• Serve as their coach and advocate to foster success in the workplace
• Support their participation in volunteer and/or other recreational activities to help develop self-advocacy, independent living and communication skills
• Engage in daily community-based travel, providing transportation as you actively accompany individuals to work, volunteer and community sites to build their path to independence. (mileage reimbursement provided)

• Valid driver’s license and comfortable traveling within your local community
• Monday – Friday, daytime business hours (flexibility offered for part-time)
• Comfortable using MS Office, documenting notes in an electronic system, and accessing apps on a mobile device

Pay: $19-$22 per hour
